Finally got out today for a days detecting today.first signal took me ages to find looks like a Edward farthing.what a start the coin looks like it been chewed but amazing i can make out details.
Then buttons buttons and more buttons with bits of lead.then a strange buckle.cartwheel penny that made my day i love them for some peculiar reason.
then 2 broken hammies i was then shaking to say the least.started to grid the area more buttons and George pennies.then a lovely Lizzy sixpence well i think it is, 27mm diameter.I think i stumbled onto a money pit.
got to get back there this week got to be more there.I will update this post if i get there again this week. Grin Grin Grin
anybody got a date for this type of buckle not seen one this shape before.
cheers.
Ian.

Thats a good days tectin! That looks more like either some sort of scabbard chape off a leather sheath or some type of belt stiffener/strap end to me rather than a buckle.

I agree Benny - not sure its a buckle - does indeed look like the end attached to leather of a sheath knife.

Nice find Ian - well done on your site - theres more to come from there!

cheers all.that buckle thing is puzzling me too. it looks like there was a iron tang same as buckles but i agree could be of end of belt.maybe give it to mark on wends.
cheers.
