A cracking link simon. Just watched Series 8 episode 3 - The Celtic spring. which is a fantastic episode for a change that turns out to be a hoax. Once again Baldrick points at metal detectors being used to find the items and then the items planted here in South Wales. A great episode - watch it guys.

Does anyone know what episode and series the Operation ^^^^^ was when the guys basically had been flogging loads of Anglo Saxon finds on fleabay.

Cheers

i would'nt watch time team if they were in my back garden. as dick aston said metal detectorists are robbing the country of artifact's and in 20 yrs there'll be nothing left in the ground. how can anyone take this idiot seriously let alone watch him on tv

Yeah the Celtic Spring episode was great to watch Neil.  I watched it again last night and loved the look on the sons face when they are asking him all those questions lol

I wonder why the rest of that series is there but not Operation Ainsbrook. Legal action perhaps?

Nice one Geoff - watching it again now - bloody idiots - give us all a bad name. I think the one in particularly gets far too "Camera struck"!

Great TV, but very bad press for metal detectorists! It does however highlight the under estimating the valuations by the BM - which is I guess is a good thing. Ypu all know how I fell about that. Angry

Great TV, but very bad press for metal detectorists!

Neil

I don't think Time Team is a very good show for professional archaeology. They should be sponsored by JCB. Can you remember the episode where they went to America? The American archaeologists were horrified at the techniques that the British wanted to use.
