I took the 2nd Mrs Jones Shopping to day in a blizard and i was bragging ......."I know how to drive in the snow"
Leaving a senseable gap from the lorry infront when he braked to avoid a kid running across the road i found my self sliding slowly into the back of the said lorry and managed to miss him by inches and ended up along side him looking at him through his side window  Shocked
i tell you i need a few stiff brandys after that .
The cars staying in the drive from now on its safer to order a takaway lol

Coz i wasnt picking Des up i came over LLanwonno mountain
I thought it was a bit strange there was no cars on the road untill i got top near the top
it hadnt been gritted and there was an inch of snow and ice all the way down the other sideand you know how steep that road is

I spent 3 hours on Southerndown beach this evening , howling wind , freezing temps my keys and mobile locked in my car , thought i was going to pass out with the cold. What a day! Smashed my quarter light window to get into the car only to find my doors still would not unlock, some type of security feature.

HI Byron,  ThaNKS  thats what i was worried about what it would be like later,   i haven't had a lot of practice in my new car yet so not all that used to it with these conditions,  only went on the road with it sunday.
it did start to snow around 9  but then stopped.
 glad you were ok,

Hi Tafflaff were you detecting or surfing at Southerndown - nice break to the right, but a bit bloody cold at this time of year! You can't have been sun bathing!

It shows dedication which ever you were doing!

Hi Alan

After my adventure on Llanwonno i went home from the club Pontypridd way, the roads where fine. the 3 new members turned up i didnt see it but last week but the couple brought in a roman coin found in the Rhondda (a rare thing indeed) i only know of 3 ever found one was Mal jones and last night they brought in 2 bronze rings pos. Roman, Ive found 3 pound decimal few pre decimal and my medieval stap end since Xmas.
I must be going something wrong  lol

Funny enough I was Detecting around where the donkeys are tied up on Trecco Bay Sunday when a guy with a german shepard tapped me on the shoulder and asked had a found a set of keys.
I went over to search where he thought he,d lost them  but i found them on the surface.
Did i get a reward ? did i bugger lol

Regards
Phil Jones

well a couple turned up and asked could they help at all , I had to borrow the guys mobile and phone my wife who then phoned her father, he came down with the spare set of keys. He had to go up the valley to fetch them off my missus so all in all it took another 2 hours. It was blisteringly cold, I still havent warmed up. Still.... found £3.50 a really worn coin of some kind , a button with a court of arms on it, and a Ladies Tissot watch!
