Well its been far to long since I have been inland and only once on the beach in the last 3 months due to being busy doing my house up, so as last Thursday was my birthday I thought I deserved a few hours in a field Smiley the problem was going to be at this time of year  was anything available, so I found myself driving around some of my farms looking for anything that was not high in crop as luck would have it part of a field that produces mainly Roman, with a bit of Celtic and very occasionally (bronze age well mainly small bits and pieces) was down to ground cover for the birds and as yet crop not showing so it was a welcome site as you can appreciate. I must admit I have gone over this area before and was not expecting much, but it was cultivated seeded and flat and that was good enough for me, as you can see I had quite a few signals the usual bits of lead and the army boys had left a few 303 ends for me... Cheesy the roman tweezers were a nice find I have had lots of these over the years and the next signal not 3 feet from these up popped a lovely bronze object at the moment I am sure its roman Huh and would appreciate any ID....that said it does look like a pipe tamper of much later date ???the thing is this field has never produced any artefact or coin beyond roman, it just looks roman but what was it for Embarrassed by the way it was my Deus I fired up for this trip and once again it produced I have said it before it is a brilliant machine Wink Wink

Iv had a few ideas but nothing came of it Undecided it is a strange one but it looks familiar lol, I think its one of them finds where you put it away and forget about it, and all of a sudden one will pop up in the future and you will get your id, il keep my eyes open Cheesy Wink

I took the kids out this afternoon for a walk and to check the crop its very green up my way, its surprising as there's golden fields in Somerset?

Nice one Spikey

I know it's a bit difficult to say for sure as you're almost certainly using different settings for your Deus than I am for mine, but where in the spectrum do romans come up for you?

As I've already removed all the signals from the field I usually find roman in (with the T2 / Se Pro and ETRAC) , I haven't found any with the Deus yet...I'm still in the 'dig any decent signal' phase so I'm digging a lot of trash along with my pennies!
