Heres a pic of the axe head I found in feb last year I'd only been detecting about 7months when I found it as you can imagine I was over the moon.

Fantastic item - well found.

I've only found a bit of an axe head, but for non-detectorists they've been far more interested in that than almost anything else I have found - they're quite tactile and you know that they (might) have been used for real work.

Love the patina on it John - absolutely beautiful.

I hope you went and checked deeper in the ground underneath it - thers often more than one.
