As I personally had a poor finds rate at the Wookey rally, but which was none the less a good day and thanks most go to the organisation of it, I decided to kit up and try one of my Roman sites which is now dead flat and planted, and as you can see it was well worth it, my last visit had produced nothing worth mentioning which just goes to show what another day makes .Best of the days finds was for me the Iron Age brooch, yet to find a parallel, also the small Pollen Hill type brooch is only 3cm long, all in all a bitterly cold day with no protection from the easterly wind unfortunately, and what seems like the start of a cold or even the dreaded man flu enjoy pictures and good hunting, hope to see some BLING of the beaches later this week boys and girls with these low tides. That's a nice selection Smiley

It's good to see some larger roman too - that's a Nero I think as the bottom and a post reform Constans at the top (if I remember correctly) - the reverse on that one should be 'FEL TEMP REPARATIO' - I'm guessing the Nero might have Victory holding a shield inscribed SPQR, but I'm just guessing Smiley

Like the brooches too - especially the Iron Age one.

Wow Paul that's a cracking brooch Shocked  Not a clue what it is though (yet) My gut feeling is a La Tene Type 1 which puts it a good 400 years before the Polden hills brooch and maybe a long way from home as it does share similarities with some western Gaul brooches Huh
