NOW FULL, RESERVE LIST IS OPEN
Ok guys , land is at a Premium at the moment but Mike has had a word with one of his farmers and the farmer has kindly agreed to allow a rally on his land.

We're looking at Pasture, stubble and Forest to detect in. No promised here guys its an unknown for us but it would be great to see you all again.

The meeting time will be 9.00am and the rally will start at 9.30am. The rally will finish at Dusk.
If you turn up earlier than 8.45 There will not be directional signs up so please don't!

This will be a DetectingWales.com members only rally and I'm afraid everyone attending must be over 16 years of age. Usual terms and conditions apply. Everyone who attends does so at their own risk and we recommend that everyone has civil liability insurance. If you are a member of a club you will probably already have this. Please check.

The location of the rally will be sent by private message to everyone who has signed up the day before the rally. Tickets are £7 per person, pay on the day.

And here is a little taster from Mike

Here's a little info on the farm and surrounding area .

This was the 1st farm I ever detected on a hand full of times in the early 1990's with two other mates , the farmer ( who I went to schools with ) tells me one other guy used to detect there very occasionally quite a few years ago so the farm is 'almost undetected'.

The farm itself is mainly pasture with some ploughed/stubble for us to play on and a large wood .

There is a footpath through the farm which leads to a 12th century church about 1 mile down the valley, so there should have been a fair bit of traffic through the area to it .

There are unconfirmed reports of 2 small hoards found in the area .

The villages of Nelson and Gelligaer are not to far away, where bronze age Roman and Medieval finds have been made by detectorists .

Cardiff scan club held a rally last year on a farm just a short way down the valley from our farm which produced a hammered or 2, a gold ring and other nice bits and pieces
I can't promise that you will make ancient finds on this rally as I genuinely don't know what's there but we can only try. One thing I can guarantee are some quite amazing views .
