Anybody detected the beaches in this area? Any hints or tips?

Thanks Richy.

Hey Richie you are now a hero! Newgale is a very windy beach as far as I know good for the surfers, bound to be lots of finds there!

Hi Dickle,If conditions are right you could do well.Site of petrefied forest from the clay of which have come bronze age items.Usual coins and jewellery off main beach,
Good luck.

dickle as Al says it has a petrified forest a fair way, out which was uncovered a few years ago by a huge storm. the pebble banks between the road and the sand was washed into the pub as i recall.
i met a husband and wife couple who detect that had found bronze age items there but that was with a lot more sand removed than is there now. i have a friend who has a static caravan there who keeps me informed of the height of the sand.
top of the beach is good for coins, jewelry etc. and if the tides in you could always hire a surfboard from the newsagents  Wink

Kev if my memory serves me well there is a damn good breakfast to be had at the cafe at the north end of the beach as well.
