If it was flooded in Roman times (which it was) I bet theres a fair chance of there being a few deep Votive offerings down there somewhere  Roll Eyes

Thanks for a really fabulous day guys - well organized as usual, great site and location, and special thanks to Geoff for the lovely cake  Grin Grin It is good to put faces to the names on the web site (Hello Kev!!  Cheesy) and have a chat to everyone whilst having a cuppa.  I didn't find anything special myself, but it was good to see the great coins and artefacts that came up on the day.  AncientPat - I will be stuck by you like glue at the next one!!  See you all at the next rally   Kiss

A very good point gentlemen. In North Herefordshire all the flood plain cropmark sites go out of use around 200 ad and since i have excavated a few I realise that they were abandoned because of flooding. Now why did I not realise straight away. Stupid me.

I enjoyed the cake immensely! The smell was a bit off putting and I can still whiff it after two showers and a bath! Just a button and a 1971 QE2 penny   Roll Eyes for me but an enjoyable day nonetheless.

It'll take more than a bit of shake'n'vac to get the pong from the cars boys. I bet people are wondering why your wheels smell like a Yaks armpit
