A few months back , not long after I's joined this forum I was chatting about my  Whites DFX and the problems I was having tuning it, one of the forum members, I think it was in the chatroom, said he had some books and a spare DD coil, and he would fetch them to one of the upcoming DW rallys , not thinking anthing of it I said thanks . In the Caerleon rally, a guy walked up to me and held out some books and a coil, confused I looked at him expecting an explanation, he said " You are Rob are'nt you"?    I replied yes he then said  "I'm dickle I promised to lend you these".

Now how is that for trust and kindness. I'd never met him before, didnt know him before the DW forum, and really never expected him to lend me the coil and books. Thants the sort of gestures taking place on a daily basis on this site. Help , advice, friendship and never expecting anything in return.

That is why this forum will work.

And thankyou very much Dickle (Richie)

THE BREAM MACHINE F.I.D.

« Reply #1 on: March 23, 2009, 11:42:47 AM »

On joining the forum, I have found everybody pretty helpful in pointing me in the right direction as I'm new to detecting.
I joined the forum 2 days before the last rally, and I did'nt even have a machine at that point and one of the members even offered me the loan of one of his machines if I turned up.
Even though it was late notice for the rally and I could not attend, I am most grateful for your support.
Thanks guys.

Exactly Alan, the forums I'd been on before asking for advice, I never even got an answer for most of my questions. This fourum has been so helpful.

well the first person i saw at Caerleon came to me offering a sword!  Cool
what will keep making this site a success is its members.
the only downside to it is im sure i spent more time talking to people than detecting. Wink
if we do get a weekend rally going in the summer i may as well leave the detector at home   Cheesy
thanks guys, and dolls, for making this site what it is

I think a weekend rally will be great! Hopefully will give us a chance to have more of a chat.. Although from what I gather , some forum members did more chatting than detecting anyway Tongue Grin

Thanks Rob, nice to feel appreciated lol.

I could tell when you joined the forum that you were fired up about the hobby but were struggling a bit with your DFX, it's not the easiest of machines for a beginner to learn and so I thought a bit of help would not go amiss.

I now want to see your quality finds increase by at least 100% lol.

Good luck mate, Richy.
