hi doc please could you id this little roman coin for my mate welshbreed found at todays rally we got soaked so we came home early thanks again

my 1st reaction is Gallienus, but i'm having trouble with ID'ing the reverse to confirm it.

the reverse suggests VOT  X [the 10th imperial anniversary] ... but that fits in with the constantine period ... so more research needed!

Very nice find, and a bit more unusual than your average Roman.

It's Galerius. The obverse inscription is GAL VAL MAXIMIANVS NOB C, and the reverse is indeed VOT X above T for the mint (Ticinum). The coin dates from 299 AD.
