If I was a rich man

« on: January 18, 2011, 07:12:55 PM »

What started off a anxious morning with police cars and battering rams next door I finally got out of the street and made myself to Paulywow's house. We arrived at about 11.30 and what a lovely site it was with a 11th century castle just a stones throw away. We started off on the pasture where within 15 minutes I had my first hammered a Edward.[ will post pics later I need help with it] 10 minutes later was a roman grott. Plenty of buttons of all ages was popping up. My last find in the pasture was £2.20 in the same hole. I crossed the field into the seeded field to meet paul who had a silver sixpence in lovely condition. More buttons then hammered number 2 a Henry 7th Groat at this point I was walking on air. I said to Paul i am on for the hattrick and bugger me on the way back towards the car there it was Hammie number 3 lizzy sixpence. What a day and the best was yet to come when I went back to Paul's and there was a Buffet put on. A big thank you to the misses mate it was lovely.
Thanks.

Well done you two. A good trip all round and with the moisture in the ground down our way matched to the mild days we are now having, I bet there are some gems waiting to be found.
