Free coach trip November 21st 2010

A coach load of members set out on a cold Sunday morning for a club dig in Gloucestershire. We arrived around 9.30am at the site, a holiday cottage complex, set in spectacular autumn scenery of multi-coloured trees. Before getting on to the fields, the owner offered us the use of a kitchen/dining area to eat and leave our food etc in, a very kind gesture.Everyone found lots of targets during the day, mainly comprising of horse harness buckles, cattle ear tags and copper coins. As usual, some members were luckier than others.
Gwillym Williams had a hawking bell,a silver earring and a lead token.Geoff Berryman had three Georgian buckles and an old thrupenny piece.Mark Harford found a thimble and a pen knife.Norman Oxley had one of the finds of the day with a nice little hawking whistle and an iron foot pattern..................
