just to say went out sunday  to cowbridge   all i came back with was an old iron horse shoe . i dont mind what i find  then 2 day went over on to a bit of green  across the road  talk about happness lies under your eyes  in your own back yard  wham around a few trees george 6th 1920 penny george 6th thrupenny bit two of them 1945 and 1940  edward 7th 1902  and 1906  penny and a guernesey 8 doubles 1947 i dont know how that got there  honest i think its a penny  i dont mint what i find best hobby ive ever taken up realy interesting  sinky yippieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee  he he he  all the best to every one out there .

well done sinky, now think about the types of display cases you are going to need to display the artefacts and coins.

Please try and record all finds that are over 300 years old with your FLO.... if you can give a 6 fig/8 or 10 figure grid reference, it will be much appreciated.

Well done on the 1st finds, but rest assured, the older stuff will come and with it the responsibility for recording it on our nations Portable Antiquity scheme.

you may want to plot the finds on an OS map -- or use google earth and print off the field and mark on it the finds. You may want to think about the type of filing system you are going to need to help you remember what you found and where in years to come.

Yes well done Sinky. That,s Detecting in a nutshell for you. Expect the unexpected and a thousand ring pulls and as Alan say,s please record with your FLO anything over three hundred years old.
