as there are a lot of new members now on D.W. and are just getting into the hobby ,well i thought i would let them know how great this hobby is of metal detecting and to say you will have more bad days than good when it comes to finds but you will enjoy this great hobby and to let you know while i was in hospital with my bad leg and foot it was the thought of getting back out detecting that kept me going in that hospital ,and not only that when i found my first gold coin back in January 2nd just before my accident the coin i thought i would never find but did ,so it goes to show just dont never give up the rewards will come to you ,and most of all "ENJOY THIS GREAT HOBBY" ;this is the gold coin i found EDWARD 3RD QUARTER NOBLE 1356-1361

I know how you feel mate.I have only just come out of hospital after having triple bypass and i have only just started the hobby.Good thing is though i am managing now to venture into the garden which is helplng my rehab.
I hope that you recover soon and good luck.

Kev, it certainly is a great hobby.  I can't wait to go out tomorrow again (as you know!).  I got quite despondent at the rally at first when all I got was junk piece after junk piece, but you learn as you go and when I found which signals were better than others on my detector, it really helped.  Also, I wouldn't normally have been out on such a drizzly day but it was great being outdoors and you feel so good afterwards. 

Another great find by the way.  Grin
