Ok then -- after a little break in very west west wales, try this little stunner - found wednesday 3rd Nov.   a stratford half penny...... which opens up a whole new chapter of research into town/city tokens of the mid 17th century

many thanks indeed to Peter & Chef in helping identify it.

 Obv :-  a . stratford . half . PENY = The arms of the borough:
a chevron between three leopards' faces.

Rev :-. FOR . NECESSARY . CHAING= 1669. J


..... plus of course the usual buttons, balls and wotsit [top left corner]
