I was given this knife and was told it was brought back from world war 2. I was also told it was issued to The Black Watch....HAH !!!! That was the only two pieces of info given. It is about as British/Scottish as the pyramids I think...though I may be wrong. It is nine inches long. Anyone any thoughts as to its origin? Any educated guesses welcome.

I agree Jon it certainly doesn't look like a Scottish dirk lol  Grin, judging by the crude workmanship it would appear to be a display knife of sorts. To me it looks like it could come from India, but I could be wrong, usually am lol  Grin

hi jon,it could be greek .a mate of mine had one,the blade was the same but a different handle.

Cheers guys. The handle appears to be brass and bone/ivory. Appears made up, almost trench art as some of the fittings appear to be very similar to shell casing material.  I think it is ivory as it appears to have a grain.
