Don't know if this has been posted elsewhere but I've spotted this and thought it would be of interest:-

They are saying it could be Wales' oldest coin, but can that be right? I know of a A.Licinius Nerva dated 47 BC found down where I live (Loughor) site of Roma Fort. It was found on the riverbank around 1990 by a detectorist.

What y'all think?

well iv'e got one that dates to 119 years B.c. that i found about 9 years ago in wales,  see it in the gallery.
 i can't remember if it was recorded though, not much of that going on then around here,
 i did send a pic into the treasue hunting for their experts to see though.

I was lucky enough to be on a really good site in Wales 10+ years ago, 10 of the denarius I found were BC the oldest being 111-110 BC T. Manlius Mancinus, so they were all in circulation for a long time, having said that when I was a kid it wasn't unusual to get a viccy coin in your change.

hi hedgehog yea viccy was a popular queen i have got pennys half pennys, farthings  halfcrowns  four pences of her time as queen her days of the bun, young head and when she  had aged. i still think thier great to DES
