Just want to say thanks to all for allowing me to attend this Rally and for the great day out!! Some fantastic finds I must say, and I am so happy to have found my first hammered on a Rally!! Hope to see you all again soon!! Oh yes, if anybody wanted to know about my find, it is a Sixpence of Elizabeth Ist dated 1571, with the Mint mark being the Castle. Happy hunting everyone!

Hi all,

I have managed to flatten my James 1st penny after finding it curled up. Terrified myself when heating it but it looks pretty good now. Will post a picky when I have a minute.

Thanks taff and Neil and the other DW stewards, particularly good to have a hi viz jacket on Roman Ray so I could see him coming and move a bit quicker before he found everything!

All together good day out and at last some success, well done to all the other finders.

Hope to see you all on the next one!

Here are my two hammies cleaned up a bit.

The better coin is Edward I, Canterbury mint, Class 4a, and the wrecked one looks like an Edward IV York penny that has been clipped, battered and hammered!
