Thought I'd share an unusual (for me anyway) find of an enameled sixpence - I've not had one of these before

This came from the mud on the site of an old WW1 training firing range on the Dee estuary a couple of years back. From a little quick research it turns out that 1887 was the main year of production for these items - see: http://www.worldcollectorsnet.com/magazine/issue10/iss10p6.html for more info

That's nice and thanks for putting the info up , it is interesting that they don't know how to do it any more , I would love an enamelled coin!

Nice unusual find that. I saw one at a SCAN meeting a few months ago in poor condition. Great bit of jewellery.

Most unusual find Allan, I wonder if it comes inder the same umbrella as Trench Art?

I'd love to find something like that one day.
