Any thought on this guys??..my mothers looking at a new T.V i'm out of touch with tv's today would you go for a plasma or led? also what model should i look at?? thanks in advance

Led's are quite new  so you'll be paying a fair bit more. Plasma's and LCD's are more proven at the moment.  Panasonic Viera  are the danglies so are LG. I dont like Phillips or Samsung.  And stay away from the own brands that Asda and Tesco sell.

I'm in the Panasonic Viera 42' gang on this. I bought one for the World Cup.

Playing the PS3 on it is absolutely stunning - a great TV.

If your TV is going to be low level , in reach of kiddies fingers ( if you have any) don't go for plasma, any fingers on the sceen can end up in a black spot ,,,,,, been there tried it

If you go for an LCD I would suggest no more than a 40".
I have a philips with ambient lighting, first class.

Wow, best picture ever seen, so for me philips are good, LG are OK but picture not as good as philips.

Check the which magazine, they are pretty spot on.
