Hi there - just thought I'd stop by and say hello!

I'm Allan - from North Wales - and I first started detecting in the late 70s / early 80s. (Yup - I've still got an old 'pipe finders' licence somewhere to prove it!!!). I was also a member of the Historical Search Society in Mold for a few years in the 80s - so Hi to anyone that remembers me...

Haven't been 'pipe finding' for about 5 years now - but the good news is that I've recently changed jobs, changed address, and changed wives (er... that's not plural btw!), and as a result I now have chance to take up this wonderful hobby once again!

My old but still excellent Tesoro Toltec is still with me... but after some research I've just invested in a Minelab Explorer II to do a litle beach detecting as well (anyone here care to comment on the Explorer other than it's a little heavy?)

Also - is there anyone here from the Gwynedd Recovery and Search Society, or North Wales Metal Detecting Club? If there is, I'd like details please

Allan

BTW - Alcohol = ALlan COmes from HOLywell (just in case you were wondering!)

hello and welcome alan the explorer 11 is a good detector all the explorers are mate in the right hands as you say they are a bit heavy and my advice to this is buy the pro dd coil as this is so light and makes a lot of difference and they are a bit deeper than the 1050 coil regards phil Wink
