as it a been said on the rally post about folks not filling in holes ,well it as been said before on here in the past ,but it keeps coming back to us ,as people like TAFF gets land for us to go detecting on so why cant these people just fill their holes back in ...its not fare and if the land owner stops us going on land it just spoils it for every DW member .so these people who are doing it and they know who they are if members do see them doing it please let our admin team know and hopefully THEY WILL BE BAND FROM FURTHER RALLIES.........thats in my opinion anyway........DON'T SPOIL IT FOR THE REST OF US PLEASE Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

It should be 2nd nature to experienced Detectorists to leave they're holes as the best shape possible
I know its not always possible to do a neat job but at least try.

Ive been to many National Rally over the years and i think the number of unfilled holes are worst there.
I think because people feel they paid a large amount of money and dont want to waste time filling holes.Thats no excuse in my book.

Dont get me started on Detectorists putting there trashy targets back in the hole and covering them over   Angry lol

I didn't see any unfilled or really messy holes but I was disappointed to find a hunk of dug up lead thrown  a few feet from a hole towards a hedge but obviously falling short.

I also didn't see any unfilled holes, but I did see plenty of mess due to turf being replaced upside down. Come on lads, grass side up! Shouldn't be too difficult.

I filled in two holes and tidied up a good many more but I also removed seven large pieces of scrap iron from the surface which were too big for my minelab finds bag. I noticed that there were a good number of people who were obviously very new to detecting and maybe just don't know any different, if we see these people stuggling in the field perhaps a few words of helpful advice would be more effective than harsh criticism.
This obviously doesn't excuse people who should know better. Angry

This is one hole as you entered the far stubble field.
It was that big I nearly lost meatslicer, but seriously folks, it's this example that stops us getting permission to detect.

i almost lost some new farm land as i took someone who dug pasture and didnt fill holes properly, but after i had a lecture off the farmer about it i managed to placate him,the rule is clear enough{fill your holes} ,,the trouble is if its somene elses land filling holes dosent become a problem but im happy to say i went home on sunday in the knowledge that i filled in my holes as best as i could and also had a pocket full of rubbbish that my bin easily had.....

totally agree with you Kev. not filling in holes is just down to laziness and an arogance of an individual. I personally havent seen too many unfilled holes on a DW rally, mind you i wasn't on last one. But i do feel that if a person is seen deliberatley leaving a hole he should be asked to leave imediately, and that goes for any rally or dig who ever organises it. the same goes for the inconsiderate few who decide to leave the shotgun cartridge or lump of lead at the side of the hole.
