found yeswterday is this gold its oval approx 1cm quite heavy the other thing i found is it part of a dagger pommel or furnniture mount

Could do with a closer picture on the possible gold to be sure Steve. Certainly looks Stator size but the Doc will put you right on it Steve. Sure the other item is a furniture mount or door handle.

Steve, gold being nearly twice the weight of lead, a lump of gold thats big should feel unnaturally heavy. What weight is it?

it is very heavy considering the size of it but havent got a
tidy weighing scale to weight it
