They're very popular in the States Jon, you see them all the time in detecting videos. I've never seen anyone using one over here. Me? I'm a Draper mini shovel man! Smiley

Wonder how the knife laws work with that one , wouldn't touch it with a barge pole , doesn't look legal.

I thought it looked a bit like summat out of Hallowen myself. I was tempted to take my old army jungle  knife but I'd probably get six years! Dickle said they use em in America but they probably shoot the crud off their finds with a colt .45! It looks effective for the job though.

pretty sure , big blades are allowed , but within the confines of your hobby, like a fishing fillet knife for example.
