Wow - what an excellent day!! Great report and pics Neil - I wish I'd been there.

Just a couple of ID points - Casa's hammered is a Charles I penny, not James.

The stater is a Dobunni EISV type, Spink 381.

I'm still looking at the silver Celtic.

The silver unit also is EISV I believe, Spink 382.

Edit 16.8.2010. Need to go back to coin school Embarrassed

The experts elsewhere have determined this is not silver, but is the bronze core of a plated EISV stater. I'm not sure if that means it's a forgery, or did they issue plated staters when gold was in short supply?

yet another great ralley.maybe the best one yet.what a great day and half i had.lol.
great night at the campsite.very enjoyable sleep as its nice to sleep of the ground for a change.lol.
as i dont have much luck with airbeds it was my highlight of my weekend as i never found anything at all really.lol.
but it was great to see so many new commers faces.and so many great finds throughout the day.
the flow did.nt come up for air today.
many thanks to the flow for coming.
had a great ralley loved every minute of it.

great crowd, great weather and GREAT location. what more could anyone ask for?
I had my first hammered on a rally this year, Elizabeth 1st half groat (pic to follow).

Auntie Ann & i enjoyed the rally some really nice finds turned up ,well done all,as the doc said the hammy i found is a Charles 1st penny found out its tower mint as well,thanks farmer phil for taking this photo of the coin Wink
