Ive had a Passion for Roman Britian for as long as i can remember.
with particular interest in Roman wales.

On my travels ive seen almost every bit of Roman Remains there is in Wales.
and most of the listed and sceduled sites are no more then marks on the ground thanks to the Grave Robbing Victorians,Forestry works,Farming, and in south wales mining.

I agree there should be Laws to stop Major sites being damaged but i think the powers that be have made britain a no go zone.
As a young lad my Dad took me to see a fine example of a Motte and Bailey Castle near the mountain Visitor Centre Breacon some of you may know it, only to be met with a Farmer Carrying a shot Gun "Get off My Land" he said
My Father should have Said "if it wasnt for me youd be flying a swastika over your farm house door"
ok we did have to climb over a barbed wire fence to get to the Castle  but thats not the point lol Tongue

The Right to Roam act as far as i can see is just words
Im not condoneing illegal Detecting but to my mind ,
Why are we bothered when English Heritage can charge £3 Pounds to park your car at Stonehenge pay £6.50 per adult to see it. For five adults that works at £32.50 less £3 = £29.50 "WHAT A LIBERTY". You can't actually get very near to the stones anyway theres a better view walking up the A344

Being a Rhondda lad Ive visited a local Henge the Rhondda Stonehendge ok i agree not as impressive only being about a foot high but its not the point i seen it for free it belongs to the people of Britainlike all the other Great monuments and should be free to view!

FIGHT THE POWER !

My wife & I spent almost a whole day walking around Carewent (Near Chepstow), some of the best Roman remains we've seen outside of Rome & most certainly the best preserved Roman Wall.
How much did this day cost?
N O T H I N G, except for spending money.
Well worth a visit.
