Visitors to Wokingham Library can find out more about archaeology today.

A talk from metal detector Colin Hennell on the subject ‘History Beneath our Feet’ will take place from 6.30pm at the library in Denmark Street.

Mr Hennell will be talking about how metal detecting works, finding sites and working with archaeologists.

For budding metal detectorists and other finders of objects of archaeological interest there will also be several drop-in sessions with Wokingham Borough Council’s finds liaison officer.

The sessions will cover areas such as identifying and recording objects, advising about conservation, guidance on the Treasure Act and local heritage services.
