Casa dos found this today....silver ..very fragile and small (10mm??)...so didn't try cleaning it
Could it be Saxon???

Hope you can id...or anyone else help.

Not to much to go on but I would hazard a guess at it being a Soldino, if you turn the right hand pick 90* anticlockwise it MAY show  a person in profile holding a staff.

agree with you totally Kev. i love spindle whorls too, i feel they have a personal connection with the past. you just know that some one spent hours and hours using that object, probably over many years and possibly handed down through generations where as a coin could have passed through hundreds of different hands  before being lost.
