Early days to give any definite facts and figures, but last week here in Somerset, a hoard of 3rdC Roman Bronzes were found, they have already been transported to the BM. Why so exciting? they weighed in at 150kg that's over 60,000 coins that would make it the largest ever found.

Wow interesting stuff Chef. Was,nt Tafflaff was it I could not find him when I left on Sunday. Was it close to us as I hear some detectorists were seen near us on Sunday on the way across from the campsite. But not with us.

Very interesting. Can't wait for more news to break. Bound to be more than coins...especially bronze. I wonder what the story behind that hoard could be.Can't wait to find out!

I'm not totally sure on location but I am lead to believe it was further south and East than where we were. It should be announced in the next few days, so keep an eye on the news. I think they are all bronzes, but if it is where I think then it could be related to 2 silver hoards discovered in the early 20thC

Just to give an update on this hoard. I was speaking to P.A.S yesterday and just asked them when it was going public.
They said they have finished the cataloging and should be announcing it next month, so it could be as early as next week.
