My family are from Almeley and when pubs became magnetic the Kinnersley Arms was my local for 15 years. I am doing some work on the hamlet of Ailey in the parish and its pre Norman Conquest "Domus Defensiblus" recorded in doomsday but whereabouts unknown until now, a very interesting parish as i keep finding lots of Roman pottery but no Roman site is known and two years ago found a DMV  in the parish. Sounds like there should be something Roman about. At least you have hope. I don't think anyone got to my locale till 1983 if my finds are owt to go by! Find any Samian ware?

Sounds very promising! Bound to turn something up. The mortaria is 2nd century at earliest as well I think? I wish you luck.
