Hi everyone, I found this the other day in a stubble field, and I haven't got a clue what it is. I'm pretty sure it's nothing of importance, it's just the curiosity thing kicking in. All I can tell you is that it's made of brass or bronze, it's about 50mm x 40mm and slightly oval in cross section. It doesn't appear to have been bent into this curve, it looks like the natural shape. I found it in the same area as some lead musket balls. I'd appreciate any suggestions so thanks in anticipation.

Welcome to the forum digemdeep, I think I can say without fear of contradiction (but you never know on this forum  Smiley)
I have absolutely no idea what it may be off, I can only think of it having unpleasant uses.

Welcome to the forum Digemdeep,
Likewise I don't know what it is, looking at the blunt end could that have been a thread or something that's broken off?

Well mates thanks for the replies, I'm glad that I'm not the only one that's baffled. If anyone else can shine some light on the damn thing, I'd be pleased to know.......Thanks again

Wow, thanks for that Charles, I honestly thought it would be too big for a cock fighting spur, that's definately a re-think. Thanks again. Huh
