This one came up in October last year from a field with medieval centext. PAS have recorded it as a "possible dress fastener" but are uncertain due to the hollowness and two open holes at the top of the object. It is 17mm x 11mm face on and 3mm thick.

Techony thanks for submitting that. it definatley looks to have some age to it. I've added it to our database for future reference and hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on it as well.

Like Handyman says, it would be fantastic to see a picture of another one in it's right place. Do you have any? This one even had the FLO baffled.

Similar in shape, but I don't think it is a clog fastener.

Thanks for posting up the Clog fastener link JonnyD. I have to agree with PeterH on this one. It's also probably too fragile to perform that function.
