llanelli club held a club hunt on the severy estuary sunday gone, three made the trip up , steve hammered, cliff and myself, arrived about 3 hours after top tide and tide was running out fast as it was a high tide, wasnt long before i needed a helping hand to free myself from the mud, thanks again steve, also cliff had the same problem later in the day.""richard "" lucky you didnot come you would still be there mate"", Shocked Shocked finds started to come out, plenty of pewter buttons a Britol farthing 1662, george 111 bullhead 6p a few georgeon, lead token, pewter whistle, then the buckles, there were 8 in all, mainly pewter but very ornate, all broken unfortunatly. one brass patterened buckle intact, about 4 inches overall lenght, has been cleaned up a bit. a great day was had by all, will post cliffs finds when i get the pictures, pictures of steves and myself finds  mickycoin mick Grin Grin

hi mole, & viv regarding the safety side of it to be honest i did not mention how dangerous the place can be enought, we laughed about it being stuck at the time, but would have been in serious trouble without company, so yes it ia a dangerous place to detect alone, thanks again for the reminder  both mickycoin mick Grin Grin

Great finds lads ,the severn has always interested me but as you say its so dangerous - I almost dissapeared up to my armpits once and had my wellies sucked off in the goo  and  I've  been reluctant to go back:( can anyone reccommend a relativly safe place to start  Huh maybe I can persuade my mate Falcon to go for a mud bath.I take it its only safe when the tide is going out and how far can can you actually stray from the shore ? wouldn't want to be caught out  Sad any advice would be apreciated.. cheers
