That impression looks great. I wonder if it is made up of a mixture of letters. This, although obviously of different construction, is possibly a bit of a similar design:

it looks like r,w,l to me and possibly a anchor, nautical, captain perhaps? Awsome to find something that thas the same initatils though. loverly find.

Well I've spent a lot of time today trying to trace this seal but nothing yet  Cry  How common place would they have been ? would everyday people own them ?

Nice pair of finds there mate. not sure about seal being nautical....looks more like a religious theme to me. thats just my guess though and ive been known to be wrong many times.
