Hi there had this hammered yesterday , I gather its an eddy penny but was wondering if you could pin me some more details down , also the strange bottle cap? Not a clue what it is though the symbolism on the top looks vaguely Alchemical (if thats even a word)

As always any help is appreciated

ps the weird thing has a diameter comparable of a pound coin (never find a ruler when i need one  Huh)

Nice finds Rob. The hammered is Edward I, probably Class 10ab, London mint.

I think Simon is right, the artefact looks like a seal matrix of some sort. I don't know what the symbol represents.

Well that is just 55 Huh. I've often heard and used the saying a find has my name on it, but this is the first time I've seen one that literally does.
So come on all you witches and wizards what is the symbol? here it is inverted.

Hi there guys, I thought I'd try out the Seal Matrix today and it works lovely. I still think that finding a Seal Matrix with my initials on it is spooky. I would love to trace who it could be, anyone think the symbolism could be Knights Templer  Cheesy Grin Roll Eyes

Taff considering the condition of all the other copper items we found, I think it is in too good a nick to be more than a few  hundred years old. It is still way interesting and weird how your initials are on it. I still think your right with the alchemical angle.
