Hi All

Back last year through a Dw forum member I found a very cheap place to get the club some reasonably priced sew-on badges.
It was brought up at a meeting but nothing came of it.
The club has had a number of badges and polo shirts made in the past and they went very well
I think now we have a lot of new faces in the club i think its time we had more club memorabilia made

I,ll contact Altered Images again and see if the prices have Changed and i,ll post how much the members will have to pay
If i remember right members used to Pay £5.00 for a pair of badges

Is there still interest Huh
Please let me know before i bring this up at the next meeting

all the best
Phil

I'll be honest, i would buy one , but i don't like the design of the RARE logo , maybe it could do with a redesign, a dragon with a frying pan sticking out of its stomach doesn't do it for me i'm afraid

I have to say I don't know what the RARE logo looks like but the image of a dragon with a frying pan coming out of its stomach sounds so unique I've got to go and take a look.

When i won the competition to design the badge  i didn't have the frying pan in it,   lol.       someone else added that later,  and i'd put a scroll design around the edge,  but that may have been too much detail for it,

Alan , why do people fiddle with designs, what i don't like is the fact it doesn't even look like a detector, an outsider would have no idea what it is , and Geoff , your right , it coud be a unicycle,,,,,, why not superimpose a true representation of a detector over the Dragon,,,,,, come on you computer geniuses,  give us some ideas ,,,, TAFF,,,, LEIGHTON ,,,, fancy a go.

I'll have one Phil, I'm happy to put it beside my Scan Club Badge, The two clubs have a great relationship and i'd proud to have both badges next to each other on my detecting vest.

I'm not a RARE member so I haven't voted of course but you guys definitely need a new badge. Time has moved on and frying pans are a thing of the past. You should grill your food now. Dragons included.

Just my two peneth worth, I'm not a member and in fact am almost a foreigner now as I haven't lived back in Wales for over 20 years. But I am still very passionate and proud of being Welsh and the Welsh flag, the problem is the dragon is now a bit twee and represents Wales not the club, when ever I see the badge I just think Wales and don't even think of a club.
So here is my quick effort. Wink

i've just checked my RARE badges out....the round sew-on patch does'nt have the "frying pan" on it, but the metal badge does......i quite like geoff's design, maybe the shield should be replaced with a detector....(not a frying pan type).... Wink...byron

just a thought  Roll Eyes

why dont we ask for sponsorship with a metal detecting company or dealer to subsidise the cost of a badge and include their logo

dont laugh Grin Roll Eyes

Thanks Chef for the design

Maybe we should be thinking more outside the box here.
Ditch the Dragon and use a bit of the space for a sponsors logo as Iggle suggested
