I noticed the ground was noticably harder at the Yatton Rally. This is not only caused by dryer weather. The sunlight and warmth of the spring obviously spurs on the growth of the grass, this results in the normal ground moisture being used up by the grass and drys the ground up at a faster rate than dry days throughout the Winter .

It definately results in fewer finds, moisture in the ground allows the signals to penetrate the ground deeper and more efficiently.
