good news

i've now had info back from the FLo re the coin weight that i found. it is confirmed as 'a cast copper alloy Aureus coin weight 10.54g'. Defined as a cube matrix, or cube weight.

The clasped hands motif is explained as representing COS III. the date of the artefact is put at 200AD.

a lovely object, to take pride of place in my collection.

cheers
