pulse induction machines?

i have herd that pulse induction machines are good on the beach,
what is the difference from a normal machine and how do they work,?
also i hear no discrimination or very little, how little is little.

i would be very interested in learning about them so any help would be appricated.

Hi Mate

PI machines send very rapid intermitant pules of energy through the coil. the power is built up then released by cutting off the volts to the search head
The high power of these machine is last during the building up and shutting down process so there no real advantage over say a multi frequency machine (idea for use on the beach)
 PI machines are unbeatable on a beach free from Iron.
They can detect 12inch plus on some beaches but like you said with no disc to speak of you ,ll soon get fed up of digging deep iron.
also recovery speeds can be very slow

If i wanted a good beach detector id be looking for a multi frequency machine
