Thats a cracking mystery object. The front looks like you should puse your lips to it and the semi circle is normally found on whistles. Does the bottom piece come off? Have you tried blowing it?

I think the end may come off as well.

Neil whistle works fine,as i say, it drives next doors dog bonkers  Grin, very high pitch sound.
there is a screw holding the silver whistle to its end, i have tried to unscrew it gently but the screw head looks as if it will break away so left it.
i really thought it was a broken hinge bar at first....just goes to show.

my thought was a sheep dog whistle, but there hasnt been any sheep on this farm so was wondering if it could be a hawking whistle. any thoughts?

That's funny as I was going to suggest a whistle as I could see a suspension loop at one end and obviousely a cap that came off the other end. Then I thought it looked too thin for a whistle Undecided Undecided

 HI Kev,  i haven't found my other one yet with the mouthpeice,   but i did come across my other one,  it has A.C.M.E England stamped on it,  but one half is missing from it, iv'e just been looking it up and its a dog Whistle,
