I have seen some lovely finds over the years including some real beauties by some DW members, but after a while the thrill wears off and the initial excitement dissapears, maybe not for the finder but the find is forgotten by other members.

So this is just an idea, we have a star and number system for the amount of posts submitted on this site by our fellow members, so why not have an additional system for showing outstanding finds by our members, such as finding a Gold Hammered or Stater, or a Hoard or a Bronze age find or maybe a Posey Ring.

I think maybe a tick box next to your Avatar, a tick for each outstanding find you have had, so that when someone looks at a profile they can see that he has found a Stater or Hoard etc.

This i think keeps the memory of a find alive and can also point a novice in the right direction for advice.

Just a thought.

I'd like to take that a step further , like the scouts badges.......dont laugh.  there could not only be a series of acheivments but also a skills acolade, for example Waltonbasinman , he would get a map next to his name as he's a top bloke at reading fields , Members that are fluent in different detectors  e.g Chef , A prancing horse for knowledgable celtic history experts , a magnifying glass for coin id's  I dont know but you see where its going.

Rob and 1 morecoin that is a brill idea. At a glance you would know what a person has achieved and that person may be the one you are looking for to further your skills.
