Ok below is a picture of a minelab pod battery , as those of you with these batteries know the machines also come with a standard battery pod. Will what I've displayed in the picture below work if I insert NiMH  1600 mAH batteries into the standard battery pod.

What do you recon ? Huh

how have you achieved 15 Volts taff?, it takes 8 cells thats 12 volts if using 1.5 alkaline or 9.6 Volts using rechargeable, i don't see how you got 15volts but DONT DO IT, you'll fry it!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

15 Volts is the input into the battery holder to charge my rechargables. Instead of taking them out i'm going to try and make a holder to slide the pod into to charge it.

Not necessarily Rob, That the Amp Hour Rating, as i said, i got hold of some 3200 rated ones (double the standard) but the output voltage is the same 1.2 Volts per Cell (9.6Volts Total, 1.2 x8) Dont mix rechargeable and alkaline, they can cause a fire, use one or the other in that pod, but don't mix them,

The rechargeable pack has a build in voltage regulator and constant current output to charge the internal rechargeable, just shoving 15 volts into the other pack, will work, but will kill the batteries fairly quick (i now someone who tried it against my advice)
