The Club meets at 7.30pm every second Wednesday of the month at Cathays Liberal Club, Cathays Terrace, Cardiff.

New members are always welcome, Family friendly with Junior membership for our younger members.

Membership runs from April, why not come and pay us a visit in between now and the April Renewal if you like what you see you can join up then

Could you post some membership details such as membership fee,s and benefits of joining The Scan club .

Our club night dates used to clash with yours once a month now they dont
I pointed out to your Chairwoman the benefits of changing your dates, Debbie must have taking my good advice lol

Hi Phil, I think the 2010/2011 rates are being announced at the next meeting.
As soon as i know for sure, i'll update the post.
It will be nice to see some of the Rare Members join up to the Scan club.
Dual membership has many advantages and its nice to see the two clubs work well together, whilst being totally separate entities without any animosity.

One off Joining fee - £5.00 (This covers the cost of our comprehensive members handbook, a nicely bound A4 book giving details of the huge amount of Club Land available, Contacts and is packed with hints and tips including some articles on find identification and local history)
Annual membership fee - £22.00 inclusive of your N.C.M.D. Insurance Cover

we also have Family packages with a reduced overall rate, I'll have to inquire what that is


 

  CARDIFF SCAN CLUB is the only club with an exclusive agreement with Cardiff City Council that allows Scan Club Members ONLY to detect in most of the Cities Parks

NO OTHER CLUB HAS THIS ARRANGEMENT

Please note N.C.M.D  membership is compulsory

Honest answer is i don't know Phil, I'll have to find out. Logic would say no and you deduct that cost from the membership, I do know there is potential for cover to expire unwittingly by not renewing your insurance at Club Renewal time, the same could apply to R.A.R.E. accepting my N.C.M.D. that expires in April,If i didn't renew it when i rejoin the Scan Club then in theory i could be out detecting without cover Something to keep in mind for people with dual membership at present that may decide to drop down to single in the future.
As this will apply to only a few members i'm sure there are measures in place to allow for this, i'll find out tomorrow for you (your welcome to come along  )

We defy logic on this occasion - all Scan Club members must have NCMD membership - this is part of the Scan Club membership.  Dig deep Phil and cough-up 
Karl's theory on his post above is the reason why - if a member doesn't renew their membership with another Club that offers FID, they could then be without insurance cover.  We insist on NCMD being part of the Scan Club membership so that this scenario cannot occur.

 Your right about the fact that NCMD members who join RARE can in theory be without insurance from April if they dont renew with the Scan club.
Me and our club sec can only go by the fact that an NCMD member has insurance cover until April

For once i have to admit Scan has got a better system than we currently use.
I dont mind coughing up as you put it Debbie you cheeky minx ! lol
It would be better for me to let my FID laps and only use NCMD not that one is any better than the other anyway
Do MCMD get a free gift every year ??
