Lisa found this today only just got in so havent managed to have a good look at it yet.  The date on the main big coin is 1877 old Vic on one side and a young Vic on the other side.  The bar and chain are hallmarked  (havent looked up the date or nothing yet) as for the smaller type coin still can't make it out.  Anyone have any ideas, could it  be for so many years service or something?  Will try to post a better pic.

 Nice one Lisa, hallmarked too,
i was wondering if the silver coin was a silver thrupenny bit worn as a good luck charm,  could the brown one be a coin too,,  or perhaps commemorative pieces , hmmm,

Nice find Lisa - I am pretty sure its a commerotavive medallion of Victorias Diamond Jubilee. Cuple of images below for you.

Well found and lovely to have it with its chain

Al its bigger than a 10p piece and thicker it looks like a comemerative coin, on the one side is a young queen vic with the date 1837 theres words each side of her head can just make some out, they read something like vdo, etin, dier, ministra,in,dextera, gloria, eivs. On the reverse is queen vic again only its her old head ? This time with writing round the edge of the coin. the smaller coin is soaking in olive oil and looks like it will come up a bit.Edited well done Neil that looks exactly like it

A lovely find Lisa, well done. I have found 3 of them but all mine have been bronze or lead, so you have the up market version.
