Encouraged by the success of DetectingWales.com I have been working on a new detecting website. Whereas the purpose of DetectingWales.com is to encourage contacts between Welsh detectorists and Welsh clubs, the purpose of the new site will be to give detectorists a platform where they can display their finds to a worldwide audience and keep an eye on what’s happening in metal detecting in other countries. Not surprisingly the name of the new website is DetectingWorld.com

I’ve reached a stage in the development of the site where I need some users to upload some pictures to the various national albums and generally test the site and find out where it’s not working properly and where it can be improved.

Please upload to the album that is relevant to you. Obviously for most people this will be the UK although we do get a certain percentage of users from other countries on here.

This has been a very complicated site to put together so no doubt there are plenty of bugs to sort out. If any of you have a minute perhaps you could log on to http://www.DetectingWorld.com and let me know how you get on, either by posting a message on the site or PMing me here.

Thanks, Botty, I'll look into that. It may just be a random error, it happens sometimes...

Pictures have to be OKed by amin or moderator, Peter. Thanks for uploading.

I've turned off the Admin approval bit for this initial trial period so from now on when you post you should see your pics appear in the gallery straight away. If, when you upload, you put a few words in the 'title' box this will appear on the front page whereas descriptions don't.

Thanks to everyone who's tried the site so far and thanks for your feedback. It's very useful information.
