I know a few of you are keen on this sort of thing and I have quite a few items in my attic.

The first one is from Ypres - as we know a huge battlesite during the Frist World War and is made of gun metal. I picked it up in an Antique Fayre about twenty years ago. It has no provenance but I am content its legit as my family know the seller.

The second one I think is also First World War but could be earlier and is two coins made into a lighter. It was found by a builder friend of mine in an attic in a metal tobacco tins along with a very battered silver India General Service Medal (in my attic now!) from around the 1880's. He owed me a favour so he gave them both to me as a thank you.

Thats all for tonight - more tomorrow. Get comfortable as I have a house full of these sort of things! Grin

Very nice Neil have seen a few examples over the years and never fail to be impressed. Often makes me think of the human element of war as a lot of these people never saw the other end of the war.
