planned to got to Abergavenny to day detecting but woke and the weather was not nice text MELONHEAD(MARK) to say its off today and not going out, then rang him well when i said we weren't going i could tell by MELONHEADS voice he was disappointed ,after saying that will go next week got off the phone and even the girlfriend ANTIE ANN Grin said he sounded disappointed so thought come on Kev get out ,so rang MELONHEAD back and said come on lets go to a local farm instead could tell MELONHEAD was pleased picked him up went to man-moel , after about a hour there in the rain and strong wind MELONHEAD came running down the field and i looked around wondering what the heck a big grin on MELONHEADS face he had found his first WILLIAM SILVER , he will be putting it on here later i think was really pleased for him we had a few more hours and then went about 2pm was wet and cold . we did find a few copper coins between us and i did find a shoe buckle which i will put on here in the week as I'm typing this on ANN'S laptop.so glad we went out just to see MARK get that nice silver coin .......well done m8 Wink

That,s the spirit Kev after the last couple of weeks work it,s all I can do to get to the Sofa and back. If it,s any concellation it is forecast rain for the foreseeable so plenty more chances to get wet. Glad Mark found his Silver could,nt happen to a nicer chap. Well done you two.

here is my coin  i found while out with casa dos we thougt it was a william but after a bit of a clean there was enough on it to id it as a george the 1st not great condition but finding and looking up a coin new to me gives me a buzz looking forward to a return visit to kevs farm

well done lads,     i too was over manmole today on one of my old shooting farms found some old pennys
six pence half pennys shilings  and a gold guilded ring ( and i left at  2 )  its a pitty we didnt bump into each other
would have been nice to have met you over there.  Smiley

Well done with the George 1 silver.  I was lucky enough to find a George 1 shilling  earlier this year, they dont come up often.
