Nice badge - watched the Hammers numerous times over the years.

hi rob,, yes i was pleased with that find. it was only an inch or so below the surface of  a newly ploughed field.

researching it was fascinating as the badge designed changed according to the rank and job carried out. well worth reading up on, on a wet day!!
