Bought my 1st detector 8yrs ago,but give up after 6 months,restarted 9 months ago,so 15 months detecting to date !  Dug more holes in that time than a 80yr old grave digger  Shocked     Roll Eyes

Had my first detector in 1977 for my birthday it was that or a chopper bike but i decided to take the detector and wait 5 weeks till xmas then have the bike so that makes the running total 316 years omg

My first machine was a Viking in 1978 off my grandfather and then a long break as I couldn't afford the batteries!

So I guess 31 years although more seriously for the past 4! I'm taking  the 31 years! Grin

Okay that makes it 372 years and 11 months!

I'm very similar to Neil, bought my 1st machine,in 1977 gave it up for a few years and then got back into bigtime in 2004 so I guess that's another 32 yrs.

Which gives us a running total of 408 years and 11 months. Grin

i did have a c scope over twenty years ago that i only used 3 times...so that does'nt count.. Wink...i have been detecting seriously for 5 years 7 months...so the total is = 446 years 11 months....byron

my wife bought me a micronata metal detector from Tandy for  christmas 1990- I enjoyed the outdoors but didnt find much so I bit the bullet and bought a fisher 1266 early 1991 - 20,000 tons of  shovelling mud and sand later I'-and a lot of scrap metal I'm still at it  Cheesy Cheesy- wouldn't have missed it for the world

thats 18 years 11 months for me - running total = 465 years 10 months  Grin Grin
